How we keep our products sustainable and re-usable

Reduce, Reuse and Recycle with Everblocks

When looking into environmental sustainability, cutting consumption or reducing waste when you are purchasing, it’s extremely likely that you’ll come across the following 3 R’s:

- Reduce

- Reuse

- Recycle

These three words describe the main components of environmentally-responsible consumer behaviour. But there are in fact six Rs that product designers must keep in mind regarding the environment. The extra Rs are:

- Rethink

- Repair

- Refuse

and these encourage creating products which are built to last - like Everblocks. Ultimately, this points towards the fact that recycling, (while preferable to producing landfill waste) should be the second priority after reusing.

Everblocks can be reused, repurposed and recycled.

Recycling means turning an item into raw materials which can be used again, usually for a completely new product. Everblocks UK offer platforms that can aid this through allowing users sell back to us any unwanted modular blocks that are still in any condition.

Examples of recycled items include fibreglass made from glass bottles, and insulation materials made from newspaper or plastic bottles. Reused items include anything that can be put back into the purchasing system that can be used again and again.

What is the difference between re-use and recycling?

The reusing process is not about re-purposing the materials an object is made of, but re-purposing the very object itself. This includes reusing them for another purpose or selling used blocks rather than discarding them. We can then use these to Hire to other users and/or re-sell these as used blocks for an entirely new purpose. See our Buy Back Scheme

Reusing is far better than recycling because it saves the energy that comes with having to dismantle and re-manufacture products. It also significantly reduces waste and pollution because it reduces the need for raw materials, saving both forests and water supplies.

Everblocks UK can help you with reuse and recycling

Everblocks UK offer the chance for you to buy a product that is all about re-using, re-purposing and re-configuring again and again.

We firstly offer a free Lifetime Design service for users of Everblocks to help them easily to re-purposing and re-configure the blocks they have into different uses.

Secondly we offer a buy back service so blocks and flooring can be reused by somebody else entirely who buys them second hand.

Thirdly, if we repurchase them from you we can add them to our Rental & Hire stock to be used again and again prior to being sold of as used blocks.

We also have a buy back scheme that enables for us to buy back your blocks and to re-use them again.

Finally, only blocks that are damaged beyond repair, will be recycled and we do this by sorting blocks on-site and transporting them to recycling facilities.

This allows for a higher recycling rate than delivering all materials in one go. Whenever possible, however, our team opts for the more sustainable option: reusing.
